ACT Preparation

The ACT (American College Testing) exam is a curriculum-based, standardized test used by universities (primarily in the US & Canada) to assess students’ academic readiness for undergraduate studies. It is administered by ACT, Inc. and is conducted seven times a year in India (September, October, December, February, April, June, and July).

Ways to Take the Test

Pen & Paper (Test Center)

Traditional paper-based format with bubble sheets and handwritten essay (if writing test is taken).

Computer-Based (Outside U.S.)

Digital format introduced in 2021 with the same test structure and scoring as the paper format.

ACT Pattern

Total Duration: 2 hrs 55 mins (without Writing). With Writing: Additional 40 mins (+5-min break before essay). After the Math section, students get a 15-minute break.

The ACT is scored on a scale of 1-36.

  • Score Range: 1 – 36 for each section.
  • Composite Score: Average of the four section scores.
