IELTS uses a 0–9 Band Scale to measure proficiency. Each section (Listening, Reading, Writing, Speaking) is scored individually and averaged for an overall band score. A score of 6.0 – 6.5 is typically required for admission to most UG/PG programs. Candidates can also retake just one section (Listening, Reading, Writing, or Speaking) within 60 days of their first test if they want to improve their score.
